Santa Ana residents deserve to live in a safe and welcoming community. We need to make sure that our public safety strategy delivers real results for our community members.

Divert non-violent calls to civilian staff that can respond faster

Eliminate the rape kit backlog

Create afterschool recreational activities for youth

Invest in robust social programs for Ward 6 residents

Establish a Public Safety Oversight Board to review effectiveness of public safety efforts
HOMELESSNESS
Homelessness is connected to public safety, public health, and the overall well-being of the City. We must address the issue through a comprehensive strategy focused on delivering cost-effective results.

Partner with new State programs for a humane medically focused conservatorship program for individuals facing addiction and mental health crises

Protect renters and low-income residents from being displaced due to rising housing costs

Evaluate and expand social service responders to homelessness calls

Replace shelter system with vouchers and permanent supportive housing

Reopen the Costa Mesa mental health facility

Stop the systematic transportation of homeless individuals from other parts of the County
QUALITY OF LIFE
Santa Ana is an amazing city but we have a lot of work to do in order to improve the everyday quality of life of our residents.

Build a new library at the Delhi Park Armory

Reopen the McFadden Public Library

Convert the Union Pacific rail line into a bike & walking trail.

Create a City-wide parking plan with a vote by residents

Create a market for parking passes so that residents that don't use them can sell them

Ward 6 has a long history of exposure to chemical and environmental pollution. The City must take proactive steps to prioritize the health of our residents.

Protect and expand green space in the City of Santa Ana

Create a world class open space amenity at the Willowick golf course

Plant additional shade trees in all parts of the City

Create buffer zones between polluting industries and residents

Partner with other agencies for scientific studies on chemical exposure risks

SMALL
BUSINESSES
We should take direct steps to make it easier to start a small business. As well as making it easier for existing businesses to focus on themselves instead of complicated government processes.

End the Certificate of Occupancy inspection process for non-hazardous businesses

Allowing more flexible uses in existing small commercial spaces
